What you get with one-click Twenty CRM

Twenty is an open-source CRM with a fast, spreadsheet-like interface. You track companies, people and deals, shape the data model to your business, and keep it all on your own server. Choose it with a plan, pay, and we build the VPS (KVM, NVMe, Ubuntu 24.04 LTS) and install it; the first install takes a few minutes while Twenty sets up its database. You get:

    • Twenty 2.51.0 (AGPL-3.0) with its background worker, PostgreSQL and Redis. Only the app is published, through HTTPS; the database and Redis aren't reachable from the internet.
    • Your workspace already created, with your admin account logging in by your Devoster account email and a generated password shown in the dashboard.
    • One workspace, sign-ups closed. Nobody can create an account or a second workspace on your address without an invitation. Usage telemetry to Twenty is off.
    • An HTTPS address like yourname-x7k2.devoster.app with a Let's Encrypt certificate.
    • Dashboard controls to open the app, reset the admin password, restart, stop or start it, read its logs, run an update and connect your own domain.

The app is free; you pay only the VPS plan, with 10% off yearly, and no per-seat fee. The server comes with full root, free nightly backups kept 3 days plus one snapshot, a dedicated IPv4, 1 Gbps with unlimited bandwidth and DDoS protection. Already have a Devoster VPS? Install Twenty on it from VPS Control, after a quick check of the OS, ports 80 and 443 and free disk, or reinstall the server with it; both are free. Other apps that install this way are on the One-Click Apps page.

Working in Twenty: records, views and your own data model

Twenty starts with the objects most sales teams need and lets you change them:

    • Companies, people and opportunities, linked to each other, with tasks and notes on any record.
    • Custom objects and fields. Add a "Projects" or "Subscriptions" object, or a field for contract value, without writing code.
    • Table and kanban views with filters, sorting and grouping. A kanban view of opportunities by stage is the classic pipeline.
    • Import from CSV to bring contacts and companies over from a spreadsheet or another CRM's export.
    • REST and GraphQL APIs and webhooks for connecting Twenty to your other tools, for example through n8n.

Everything lives in PostgreSQL on your VPS, in one workspace for your team.

What needs your own setup: email, Google and Microsoft sync, AI

Some of Twenty's features depend on outside services that only you can set up, so they are off on a fresh install:

    • Email invitations and password-reset emails need SMTP. Outbound mail ports are blocked by default on Devoster VPS plans and no mail server is configured; Twenty writes those emails to its server log instead of sending them. Reset the admin password from the Devoster dashboard.
    • Gmail, Google Calendar and Microsoft 365 sync, and sign-in with Google or Microsoft, need your own OAuth app registered with Google or Microsoft, pointing at your address.
    • AI features need API keys from an AI provider.

Features Twenty sells separately: enterprise features such as single sign-on need a subscription from Twenty. This install is the open-source edition, and we don't promise any paid feature on it.

How much VPS does Twenty need?

Twenty is heavier than most self-hosted apps: its server, background worker, PostgreSQL and Redis together use about 1.6 GB of RAM at idle, before anyone logs in. That is why the smallest plan it is offered on is Starter.

You can upgrade from the panel later without reinstalling.

    Twenty or Odoo?

We offer both, and they answer different questions:

    • Twenty is a CRM and only a CRM: contacts, companies, deals and the data model around them, with a modern interface and an API built for connecting other tools.
    • Odoo Community is a suite: CRM next to sales orders, invoicing, inventory, purchasing and a website, all in one database.

If your team needs a pipeline and a clean place for customer data, start with Twenty. If you want quotes to become invoices and invoices to move stock, Odoo is the closer fit.

Updates, licence and what stays your responsibility

Twenty releases often, and a new release occasionally has problems on a fresh install, so we pin a version we have verified and move to newer ones after testing them. Updates are applied in a maintenance hour you choose, or when you press Update now. A snapshot of the VPS is taken first, Twenty runs its database migrations, and if it doesn't come back healthy the server is rolled back automatically. Auto-update can be switched off.

Twenty's open-source code is licensed under the AGPL-3.0. Devoster isn't affiliated with Twenty or its makers.

The server is unmanaged: you have full root, and its security, your users and your customer data are your responsibility. Nightly backups (3 days) cover the whole VPS, including the PostgreSQL database. We don't help configure your pipeline or data model; Twenty's documentation covers that.

    Frequently Asked Questions

Its server, worker, PostgreSQL and Redis use about 1.6 GB of RAM at idle. Starter's 4 GB runs it for a few users; Basic's 6 GB and third core suit a team using it daily.

Sign-ups are closed, so people join by invitation. Invitation emails need an SMTP server, which isn't configured because outbound mail ports are blocked by default.

Yes, once you register your own OAuth app with Google or Microsoft and point it at your address. The same applies to signing in with Google or Microsoft. Neither is set up on a fresh install.

No. Enterprise features such as single sign-on need a subscription from Twenty. This install is the open-source edition under the AGPL-3.0.

Yes. Export them to CSV from your current CRM or spreadsheet and import them into Twenty's companies, people or other objects. For ongoing syncs, use Twenty's API.

On first start Twenty creates its database, runs all its migrations and builds your workspace. Later restarts and updates are quicker. The dashboard shows when the app answers over HTTPS.

Use Reset password in the Devoster dashboard to set a new admin password. Twenty's forgot-password email can't be delivered while outbound mail is blocked.
