Introducing One-Click Apps: 30 Open-Source Apps on Your Own VPS

You can now get 30 popular open-source apps pre-installed on a Devoster VPS, ready on HTTPS a few minutes after the server boots. The app is free: you pay only for the VPS plan. Already have a Devoster VPS? You can add an app to it, also for free.

The catalog covers automation, AI, media, developer tools, monitoring, security, documents, websites and business software: n8n, Immich, Jellyfin, a complete seedbox, Vaultwarden, Grafana, Odoo, Twenty CRM and many more. Below is how it works, what every app comes with, the full list, and the details worth knowing before you choose. You can also browse every app on the One-Click Apps page.

    How it works

You pick an app, we build the server and install it, and you log in over HTTPS a few minutes later. No terminal, no Docker commands, no setup wizard left open on the internet.

    1. Choose an app. Open Apps in your dashboard, search or browse by category, and pick one.
    2. Choose a plan. Only plans with enough memory for that app can be selected, and each app shows the plan we recommend.
    3. We build and install. We create the KVM VPS (Ubuntu 24.04 LTS) and install the app with its database and an HTTPS proxy. Most apps are ready 3 to 7 minutes after the server boots.
    4. Log in. We email you when the app answers over HTTPS. Its address looks like n8n-k3x9a2.devoster.app, and the admin login is waiting in your dashboard.
    5. Make it yours. Connect your own domain, choose when updates run, and keep full root access to the server.

    What comes with every app

    • An HTTPS address from minute one. A devoster.app address with a Let's Encrypt certificate.
    • Your own domain. Connect it from the dashboard; we check the DNS and issue a certificate for it.
    • No open setup screen. The admin account is created during installation, before the app is reachable from the internet.
    • Managed updates. We test each new version first. Before updating, we take a snapshot of your server, and if the app doesn't come back healthy we roll back automatically and let you know. Updates run in a maintenance hour you choose; you can also press Update now or turn automatic updates off.
    • Controls in the dashboard. Open the app, reset the admin password, read recent logs, see the services that make up the app, and start, stop or restart it.
    • A firewall by default. Only SSH, HTTP and HTTPS are open, plus the one extra port a few apps need (WireGuard's VPN port, Forgejo's Git SSH port, the seedbox's torrent port). Apps listen only on the server itself, behind the HTTPS proxy.
    • Sensible defaults. Telemetry is off wherever the app allows it.
    • Full root access. It's your VPS: SSH in, install more software, or take things over yourself.

Bigger plans (Pro, Elite, Mega) work with every app too. Paying yearly saves 10%.

Spotlight: a few apps worth a closer look

The seedbox: seven apps, already wired together

Setting up a seedbox usually means an evening of copying API keys between seven web UIs and fixing folder paths. Ours arrives with that part done, about eight minutes after the server boots:

    • qBittorrent, the download client, with categories for TV, movies and music.
    • Prowlarr, which manages your indexers in one place and syncs them to the other apps.
    • Sonarr, Radarr and Lidarr for TV, movies and music, already pointed at qBittorrent.
    • Bazarr for subtitles, already connected to Sonarr and Radarr.
    • Jellyfin to stream the finished library, with its libraries set up on the media folders.
    • One HTTPS address with a start page that links to every tool.

No indexers, trackers or subtitle providers come pre-configured: you add the ones you use. You're responsible for what you download and share, as our Terms of Service describe. Starter is the smallest plan; Advanced is recommended for its extra memory and larger disk. More on the seedbox page.

    More highlights

    • Immich backs up the photos and videos from your phone to a server you control. On Starter and larger plans, smart search and face recognition are switched on too.
    • Vaultwarden is a password manager server that works with the official Bitwarden apps and browser extensions. You create your own master password, which we never see.
    • Grafana comes with Prometheus and your server's own metrics already on a dashboard, so it shows real data from day one.
    • LibreChat gives your team one chat interface for OpenAI, Anthropic, Google and more, using your own API keys.
    • Odoo Community and Twenty CRM bring an open-source ERP and a modern CRM to a server you own, with no per-seat fees.

Already have a Devoster VPS? Add an app to it

You don't need a new server. There are two ways to put an app on a VPS you already have, and both are free.

Option 1: Install an app on top of what's already there

In VPS Control, open the server's menu and choose Install an app. You can also follow the Already have a VPS? link on any app in the dashboard's Apps catalog.

Before changing anything, we check the server and show you the results. The install goes ahead only if every check passes:

    • The VPS runs Ubuntu 22.04 or 24.04, or Debian 12 or 13. Windows servers aren't supported.
    • No other One-Click App is installed on it.
    • At least 10 GB of disk is free.
    • Ports 80 and 443 are free, along with any port the app itself needs.
    • Your plan has enough memory for the app.

Your files, websites and services stay as they are. We also leave your firewall alone: if it's off, we don't switch it on, and if it's on, we only open the app's ports. That way a custom SSH port or another service is never cut off. If a check fails, the dialog tells you which one and offers a reinstall with the app instead.

Option 2: Reinstall the server with an app

In VPS Control → Reinstall, choose A One-Click App instead of an operating system, then pick the app. You get a clean Ubuntu 24.04 server with the app installed, exactly like a new order.

    • Same app as before: it's installed fresh with a new admin password, and it keeps its address.
    • A different app: the old app is removed and the new one gets a new devoster.app address.
    • A plain operating system: the app is removed along with its address.

A reinstall erases the server's disk, so back up anything you want to keep first.

    Use your own domain

Any app can move to your own domain from the dashboard in a few minutes, with HTTPS set up for you. Open the app, go to the Domain tab, type the domain, and add the DNS record we show you.

You want Record to add Points to
    A subdomain, like automation.yourcompany.com (easiest)CNAMEYour app's devoster.app address
A root domain, like yourcompany.comAYour server's IP address
    • Remove any AAAA (IPv6) record for the same name.
    • On Cloudflare, set the record to DNS only (grey cloud) so the certificate can be issued.
    • Once DNS is right, press Connect. If it isn't ready yet, we keep checking every 10 minutes for 3 days and connect it as soon as it's right.

Your devoster.app address keeps working after you connect a domain. You can remove the domain at any time, and the app goes back to its devoster.app address.

    Good to know

    • It's still your VPS. We install the app and keep it updated, but the server itself is unmanaged: you have root, and you're responsible for anything else you run on it.
    • One app per server. Each VPS runs one One-Click App. For a second app, order another VPS or switch apps with a reinstall.
    • Email. Outbound mail ports are blocked on VPS by default to prevent spam. Apps can send mail through an external provider's HTTPS API, and we can open an external provider's SMTP submission port on request after approval. Notifications through Telegram, Slack, Discord or webhooks are unaffected. Ghost's newsletters and member sign-in are the main feature that depends on mail.
    • The admin password. The dashboard shows the password the app was installed with. If you change it inside the app, the one in the dashboard stops working; you can reset it from the dashboard at any time.
    • Vaultwarden. You create your own account and master password, which we never see. The password in the dashboard only unlocks Vaultwarden's /admin page.
    • Stirling-PDF. We install the fully open-source edition behind a password prompt. It covers everyday tools such as merging, splitting, rotating, signing and converting between PDFs and images, but not OCR or Word/Excel conversion. For OCR, Paperless-ngx is a good fit.
    • Coolify takes over the whole server, so it's available on a new VPS or through a reinstall, not on top of an existing setup.
    • Redirects to your domain. Once your domain is connected, Ghost, BookStack, Grafana, LibreChat, Twenty CRM and Vaultwarden send visitors from the devoster.app address to your domain.
    • Where the servers are. Devoster VPS plans run in Utah, USA, on KVM with NVMe storage.

    Frequently asked questions

    Do the apps cost extra?

No. The app is free; you pay only for the VPS plan it runs on, monthly or yearly (10% off).

Do I need to know Linux or Docker?

No. Everything from the server to the HTTPS certificate is set up for you, and the app is managed from the dashboard. If you do know your way around, you still get full root over SSH.

    How long does installation take?

Between 2 and 8 minutes after the server boots, depending on the app; most take 3 to 6. We email you as soon as the app answers over HTTPS.

What happens if an update breaks something?

Before every update we take a snapshot of your server. If the app doesn't come back healthy, the server is restored to that snapshot automatically and we let you know.

Can I control when updates happen?

Yes. Pick the maintenance hour that suits you, press Update now whenever you like, or turn automatic updates off.

Can I run two apps on one VPS?

Each VPS runs one One-Click App. You can install other software yourself over SSH, or order a second VPS for another app.

Can I switch to a different app later?

Yes. Reinstall the server from VPS Control and choose another app. A reinstall erases the disk, so back up first; the new app gets a new address.

Can I move to a bigger plan later?

Yes, you can upgrade the VPS from the dashboard, and the app keeps your data.

What happens to the app if I cancel my VPS?

The app is removed together with the server, and its devoster.app address is released. Export anything you want to keep before the service ends.

    Where does my data live?

On your own VPS. Apps listen only on the server itself behind the HTTPS proxy, and telemetry is off wherever the app allows it.

    Are these the official apps?

We install each project's official open-source release. Devoster isn't affiliated with or endorsed by the projects; all names and trademarks belong to their owners.
